Why I'm standing

I would like to address lowering our huge debt, get the high rates to a much lower level, find better solutions to the Three Waters issues that government have pushed on us, ensure enough affordable housing, fix roading issues, maintain and deliver core services, keep to all budgets without cost overruns and ensure staff accountability. Much better transparency is needed, and having done a lot of big projects, I now have better fiscal restraint.

About me

I have lived and worked in the Bruce district all my life, always really advocating for and working on projects our community groups take on. For 21 years I have regularly attended Waihola Looking Forward, Taieri Mouth Amenities Society and seven other local committees meetings so that I understand all the local issues. I have enthusiasm and am an honest, open, proactive, inclusive positive person pushing for the best outcomes for our whole community.

My priorities
  1. Reduce the debt level as quickly as possible.
  2. Get the rates down to a much more acceptable level.
  3. Have other councils join with Southern Waters done well to achieve bigger savings for all.
