Helping communities get from A to B is a key responsibility of local government, from making sure the buses run on time to providing car parking and walking and cycling paths. Whether public transport is the responsibility of the regional or local council depends on where you are in the country. Local councils also own 87% of New Zealand’s roads.

Work with all bodies to remove heavy traffic from Gordon Road.
Accelerate the cycle trail from Waihola to Dunedin.
Remove heavy traffic from Gordon Road to dramatically improve public safety.
Establish a review of time frames and plans for the inland port hub and transport. Liaise with Port Otago general manager who I know.
Use health and safety experience to evaluate all transport safety and risks to the general community as some transport risks need mitigation.
Continue to make progress in establishing an alternative to trucks using the main street and plan moving them to a more suitable route.
Complete the heavy traffic bypass to improve Mosgiel road safety and protect residents and communities.
