Puketāpapa Local Board

The Puketāpapa Local Board is one of 21 local boards in Auckland. The local board makes a plan for your area and decides on local issues, activities and facilities. It also oversees council services and facilities in your area, including libraries and parks. The local board is made up of six members. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

Honestly, I'm running because I read about local body elections at the library and thought 'hey, that sounds interesting!' I guess I just really love where I live, and I would like to help look after it. I go to our local library and walk in our local parks, and I think we are lucky to have things that are worth looking after.

About me

I'm organised and pragmatic. I'm good at getting things done. I'm balancing full time work with family life, part time study and volunteering. And yes I'm tired, but I'm also hopeful, and compassionate, and sensible. I'm not part of a big interest group and I don't have a big agenda but I'm keen to hear about what matters to you. I genuinely care about our community and I would like to help look after it.

My priorities
  1. Protect funding for local libraries, local sports groups and community services like the CAB.
  2. Improve cycleways and pathways around the community.
  3. Be a pragmatic, independent voice on the local board.
