Kā Puna Springs Ward
The Selwyn District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. three councillors will be elected from the Kā Puna Springs ward. The other councillors will be elected from other wards or by all voters in the district. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Partner with mana whenua and community to safeguard taonga species, enhance conservation and preserve Selwyn's unique natural heritage.

  • Protect groundwater by working with farmers and residents to prevent water contamination and ensure developments do not harm supplies.

    Support pest control by partnering with community groups to control weeds and restore native plants across Springs Ward.

    Expand recycling by improving kerbside services and supporting initiatives that reduce landfill waste while keeping costs reasonable.
