Tararua District Council

North Tararua General Ward
The Tararua District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of nine councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). four councillors will be elected from the North Tararua ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper. Why I'm standing

I'm running because I care deeply about our community and believe we deserve a council that listens, acts, and plans for the future. I've seen too many decisions made without real input from locals, and I want to change that. Our region has so much potential, but it needs strong, transparent leadership to unlock it.

About me

I've lived in this community for 10 years, and I've built strong relationships through volunteering, and supporting local initiatives. I'm known for being approachable, honest, and deeply committed to fairness. My background has taught me how to listen, collaborate, and deliver results. I believe in inclusive decision-making and always strive to represent every voice, not just the loudest.

My priorities
  1. Improve access to mental health services to support wellbeing in rural communities.
  2. Upgrade local infrastructure to boost safety and attract investment to the region.
  3. Support youth employment initiatives to keep young people engaged and thriving locally.
