Thames General Ward
The Thames-Coromandel District Council provides local services and facilities, such as public transport, rubbish and recycling, libraries, parks, and recreation facilities. It also makes decisions about building and planning, local regulations, and infrastructure, such as water supply and sewerage. The council is made up of ten councillors and the mayor. Councillors are elected to represent wards (areas in the district). one councillor will be elected from the Thames ward. This is a first past the post (FPP) election, so you vote by ticking the name of your preferred candidate on your ballot paper.     Continue involvement in mayors taskforce for jobs and any other relevant programme which gains external funding to increase jobs for youth.

    Determine which factors are limiting businesses and innovation in the district and develop solutions.

  • Work alongside local businesses and industries that make up key services, like tourism, construction, health care and aquaculture.

    Enable job opportunities for youth and foster business and innovation in the district to enhance economic output and employment choices.

    Ensure infrastructure is well maintained and grown to support economic sectors, enabling attraction and retention of working families.
