Why I'm standing
I'm standing for the local board because, like many of you, I was frustrated after the 2023 cyclone and felt worried about our homes, roads and drains. I have lived out West since the days of the ecocity, and feel that the supercity hasn't delivered for the West. As a mum, partner to a park ranger, and long-time Piha local, I love and want to help protect and preserve this beautiful place we call home.
About me
I would bring my passion, experience, and sense of fairness to the role. With over 20 years in community development and engagement, I'm a keen listener who values people's voices in decisions that affect them. Strong communication and strategic thinking skills help me see how each part contributes to the bigger picture. Having worked in the disability sector for more than a decade—and living with my own acquired disability—I'm committed to inclusivity and equity.
My priorities
- Prioritise accessibility in planning and support inclusive, community-driven decision-making.
- Build resilient infrastructure and prepared communities supported to stay safe in extreme weather.
- Protect Waitākere Ranges and reopen walking tracks with a resourced plan for the future.
