Why I'm standing
I watched Massey sprawl out over years and learned how much that costs us. Endless suburbs isolate people, drive up rates and leave us without local places to walk, meet or just hang out. I am running because we need smarter planning. We need communities built for people, not just cars. It is time to build up, not out, to make our home more connected, affordable and livable.
About me
I bring experience in education, research and writing, with a strong focus on listening and problem-solving. Since 2015, I have volunteered in a global online community, collaborating across cultures and time zones. My approach is practical: understand what people want, study the best solutions and build something that works. I will bring that same approach to local issues; inclusive, evidence-based decision-making that supports real improvements in housing, services and how we move through our community.
My priorities
- Provide lighting, shade and protected pathways in town centres so people feel safe walking around.
- Support tree planting, especially by streets, as it is beautiful, eco-friendly and pleasant to be around.
- Zone for medium density housing near train stations to address traffic and employment.
