I passionately believe in Dunedin and want to transform it from a city people leave for work and affordable housing elsewhere, to a city people come to build their lives. I love Dunedin with its progressive and vibrant heritage and culture and will not suffer it to be sold off or starved. We need to celebrate and affirm our communities so that Dunedin can thrive. I am running to fight for the future Dunedin deserves.
I have volunteered for and then served on the board of Dunedin Pride for years, actively working to celebrate and affirm the rainbow community and have successfully delivered both annual festivals and monthly events. Through my work as an ECE kaiako, academic background, church, tabletop role-playing and volunteering, I have a strong passion for, relationships with and understanding of diverse local communities and what they mean to our city. He Takata, He Takata, He Takata.
